JONATHAN GROFF  is currently starring on Broadway as ‘King George’ in the hit musical – Hamilton. Jonathan’s Broadway Credits include;  ‘Melchior Gabor’ in the original Broadway production of Spring Awakening (Tony, Drama Desk, Drama League Award nominations) and In My Life.  His other New York Credits include; The Off Broadway productions of: Hamilton (The Public), A New Brain (Encores! Off-Center), The Submission (MCC), The Bacchae (The Public), Obie Award for Prayer for My Enemy (Playwrights Horizons) and The Singing Forest (The Public), Hair (The Public), Spring Awakening (Atlantic).  Jonathan spent two sessions as the lead of HBO’s “Looking,” and as Jesse St. James on “Glee.” His Film credits include; American Sniper, The Normal Heart, C.O.G., The Conspirator, Twelve-Thirty, Taking Woodstock and as the voice of ‘Kristoff’ in Disney’s Mega-Hit – Frozen.

This workshop will begin with a Hamilton themed Dance/movement class lead by Hamilton’s THAYNE JASPERSON who has also appeared on Broadway in the original casts of Newsies and Matilda and on TV in Disney’s High School Musical 1 & 2 and So You Think You Can Dance.

Mr. Groff, will then work with each student on audition technique and song interpretation in this special one day Master Class. We will focus on giving actors the opportunity to bring their audition and performance skills to the next level and how to better connect to their audition material. Students will break down their song material with one on one coaching in a class setting. Finally students will have the opportunity to be part of a Q&A with Mr. Groff and the Broadway Workshop team.

Students will need 1 musical theatre or pop/rock audition song in the correct key for this workshop. We will only be focusing on ONE 16/32 bar musical cut in this class. If possible please have a second song to be used as back up. Songs should be 3- hole punched and in a binder. Accompanist will be provided.

Class is limited to 16 students.
