Benjamin Rauhala is currently the Associate Music Director for The Secret Life of Bees, directed by Sam Gold, currently running at the Atlantic Theater. He is best known for his work touring the country as the music director for Jeremy Jordan, the Tony-nominated star of Broadway’s Newsies, and as the co-creator and ‘Fairy Godfairy’ of the Broadway Princess Party concert series starring Laura Osnes, Susan Egan, and Courtney Reed. On Broadway, he worked on the music team for Bartlett Sher’s revival of Fiddler on the Roof, Duncan Sheik’s American Psycho, and Diane Paulus’ revival of Pippin. His Off-Broadway credits include David Byrne’s Joan of Arc: Into The Fire at The Public Theater and The Marvelous Wonderettes at Theater Row.
Rauhala also tours as the music director for Next to Normal Tony-nominee Jennifer Damiano, Nashville star Kyle Dean Massey, Summer Tony-nominee Ariana DeBose, Anastasia star Derek Klena, Daybreak star Krysta Rodriguez, and Filthy Rich star Corey Cott. He served as music director for Hit List, the meta-musical from the NBC television show SMASH at Feinstein’s/54 Below where he is an Original Programming Producer and has created dozens of sold-out concerts, including the ‘Broadway Loves’ Series, which has famously honored Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, Celine Dion and many more beloved pop icons.
