Broadway guest teacher – Kyle Selig (Mean Girls, Book of Mormon) will work with students on monologue and song preparation in this 4 week advanced level workshop. Each student will work in a small group setting and have the opportunity to build a strong monologue and vocal audition. Students will share in the process of self-discovery and personal growth as they bring their creative self to their material in a fun and safe environment.
Each session will begin with a physical warm up; students will then spend the first two sessions working on their monologue material in a group environment. The final two sessions will be devoted to working on Musical materiel. During each class students will get one on one time to work on their pieces and receive feedback and direction.
Students should prepare one or two monologue pieces for the first session of this class. Students should also have two musical theater songs prepared for session 2 & 3. We will have additional monologue and song material to offer students if their pieces are not working for them. All monologues should be from a published play. This class is limited to 12 students. There is no final class recital.
This class will be lead by a Broadway’s Kyle Selig who is currently starring in Mean Girls on Broadway.
