We are thrilled to welcome Broadway and film star BEN PLATT for his first master class with us!

BEN PLATT will star on Broadway later this season as ‘Evan Hansen’ in the highly anticipated musical DEAR EVAN HANSEN. Ben created the role of ‘Evan Hansen’ to rave reviews in it’s past two inceptions at Arena Stage and Second Stage Theater. At the age of 11, Ben began his performance career in the national tour of Caroline, or Change as Noah. Just before he could begin his freshmen year at Columbia University, Ben landed the role of ‘Benji’ in the hit, feature-film “Pitch Perfect”. Shortly after, he was cast as Elder Cunningham in the Chicago production of Book of Mormon, which landed him the same role in the Broadway production after a critically acclaimed performance out of town. Ben reprised the role of ‘Benji’ in the film “Pitch Perfect 2” last year.

Mr. Platt will work with each student on audition technique and song interpretation in this special one day Master Class. We will focus on giving actors the opportunity to bring their audition and performance skills to the next level and how to better connect to their audition material. Students will break down their song material with one on one coaching in a class setting. Finally, students will have the opportunity to be part of a Q&A with Mr. Platt and the Broadway Workshop team. This workshop will be musical directed by BENJAMIN RAHAULA who is currently the associate musical director of the Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof.

Students will need 2 musical theatre audition songs in the correct key for this workshop. We will only be focusing on ONE 16/32 bar musical cut in this class. We ask that students have a second song to be used as back up. Music should be in a binder and clearly marked for our musical director. There is no dance component to this class.

THIS IS AN ADVANCED LEVEL CLASS. Students should be prepared for honest feedback and be ready to work in depth on their song selections. Students should have a high level of vocal training and have professional aspirations.

This class is limited to 16 Students.
